About Me

A Little About Me

Hello! My name is Allison Eckert, and I am currently studying Computer Information Systems. I chose this field because I wanted to better understand how websites, programs, databases, and other technology work behind the scenes. Technology is part of everyday life, and I enjoy learning how different tools can be used to organize information, solve problems, and make tasks easier.

Right now, I am building a strong foundation in computer information systems by learning web development, programming, databases, and problem-solving. My coursework is helping me develop foundational skills in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, SQL, and other technologies. I am learning that even a simple website can involve many different pieces, including files, folders, navigation links, images, styles, forms, and code that all need to work together correctly.

One of the things I enjoy most about technology is being able to create something useful from an idea. Throughout my classes, I have worked on projects that organize information and allow users to enter, view, and keep track of data. One example is my Hire Me Dashboard project, which helps organize job applications by keeping track of information such as company names, positions, dates applied, and application status. Projects like this help me understand how the skills I learn in class can be used in real-world situations.

I am also learning that troubleshooting is an important part of working with technology. Code does not always work correctly the first time, and finding the problem can require patience, testing, and making small changes. Each project gives me more experience working through those problems and helps me become more confident with the technology I am using.

My goal is to continue strengthening these foundational skills so I can become more comfortable creating websites, working with data, and solving technical problems. I want to continue learning how different technologies work together and how they can be used to create organized, practical, and user-friendly solutions. This website gives me a place to introduce myself, demonstrate what I am learning, and showcase the projects I complete throughout my coursework.
