Welcome
Welcome to my CIS 515 foundational website. The purpose of this website is to serve as a portfolio where I can organize and showcase the projects, assignments, and skills I develop throughout this course. As I continue learning web design and development, this site will give me one place to show my progress and demonstrate how my work improves over time. I am learning how HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, images, navigation, forms, and other web technologies work together to create websites that are organized, useful, responsive, and easy to use. Building this website also gives me practice working with folders, file paths, links, images, and page layouts, which are all important parts of creating a complete website. This portfolio represents my learning journey because it will continue to grow as I complete new assignments and projects. Instead of having my work saved in separate places, I can use this website to connect everything together and make it easier to view. The Home page introduces the purpose of the site, the About page shares more information about me and my goals, the Contact page gives me practice building and styling a form, and the CIS 515 Projects section will provide links to larger projects I complete during the course. One example is my Hire Me Dashboard project, which is designed to help organize job application information. Projects like that allow me to use what I learn in class to build something practical and useful. Another goal of this website is to help me become more comfortable troubleshooting problems and making changes when something does not work correctly the first time. Web development requires testing, patience, and attention to detail, and every part of this site gives me more experience with those skills. As I continue through CIS 515, I plan to improve the design, add more projects, and build on the skills I have already learned. By the end of the course, I want this foundational website to show not only the finished work I created, but also the progress I made while learning how to design, organize, and maintain a complete website.
